When the agents of bailed out bankers and billionaires attack unionized
workers/ they attack the middle class and they attack the heart of our
democracy. Just ask the people of Wisconsin, Ohio and Michigan.
When billionaire mayor Bloomberg cuts public workers,
New York City’s middle class bleeds.
When cuts necessary public services our neighborhoods suffer.
He denies the people of our city government by and for the people and he
tears out the heart our democracy.
These billionaires want total control of our city, state and nation.
They want government by and for the elite rich, not government by and for
the people. A government that only bails them out and sends us the bill.
Today we are sending that bill back to the billionaires.
Today we say clean up your own mess.
Today we say it’s time for some real shared sacrifice.
We say to the mayor and his billionaire friends.
It’s time for billionaires to become responsible adults not whining brats.
After the stock market crash in 2008 it was obvious to anyone paying
attention that many of the elite rich aren’t rich because they’re smart,
they’re rich because they’re thieves!
We can’t trust them with our economy or our government.
They legalized their theft, rigged the economic system just for themselves
and exploited the American people. They confirm the saying the best way to
rob a bank is to own it. They need adult supervision.
The elite rich control the corporate media, it creates distractions
that hide their greed and their theft of our democracy. Their goal is to
confuse and frustrate the American people by sabotaging and starving
government by and for the people. Their media repeats their lies over and
over again. They make middle class union workers scapegoats for the
budget crisis, blaming nurses and firefighter; teachers and social workers
and all public workers. Anyone with half a brain knows public workers are
in fact the foundation upon which commerce, industry and a civil society is
built.
The rich elites buy themselves into public office or bankroll politicians who
will become their agents. They buy think tanks, economists and lawyers
who use clever sound bites, convoluted theories and legal manipulation to
justify their greed and anti–social behavior.
But they cannot fool all of the people/ all of the time. Those politicians who
are agents for the elite rich not all the people/ will be exposed/ and will be
thrown out.
Bloomberg will not be remembered as the CEO mayor. The
mismanagement of City Time and ballooning contracting costs killed that.
Bloomberg’s legacy will not be as the education mayor. Fewer teachers and
larger classes is not the way to educate our children.
Bloomberg’s legacy will be as the Herbert Hoover of New York City.
Yes, Herbert Hoover the president who after the 1929 stock market crash
cut taxes for his rich friends, ignored the needs of the people, and drove the
economy into a deep depression in the 1930’s.
The bankers, billionaires and Bloomberg created the budget crisis.
The bankers, billionaires and Bloomberg crashed our economy.
The bankers, billionaires and Bloomberg must share in the sacrifice.
So that our city, New York City remains a city by and for the people.
